I've got a job to do in Laplace, so I figured I could venture up there and get some if they're selling. My wife's never tasted jambalaya that good (it's better than I've ever made.) and she's having a friend over for sewing/knitting and lunch.

Not sure. I would call first thing in the morning and ask. Todd's is right down the street, and they generally have it every day. Once again, I would call ahead.

You mean Verons Supermarket?

I didn't realize they served jambalaya if so. You can cross the river and get some grub from Spuddys. Not sure what the lunch is tomorrow.

ETA. NVM Spuddys jas their jambalaya lunch on Mondays. They are closed on the weekends.

If you're near St. Amant Murray's grocery cooks a 10 gallon pot every Saturday. It's good.

Went to Veron's and they had it. Got 3 jambalayas and one pastalaya for the family and friend. Not a bad deal for $6 a plate.

It was very good jambalaya, but not as tasty as last time. It's the first time I've had River Parish style pastalaya and I think I liked it better than the jambalaya. Will keep Murray's in mind next time I'm up that way on a Saturday.

What's the difference? Do they use mushrooms or cream of something soups?

Well, I've had some pastalaya in New Orleans that had tomato sauce and one even had cheese on top. It was tasty, but not what I'd called pastalaya.

Veron's version had no mushrooms or tomato product. And I would find it hard to believe it had cream of anything soup.

I've never made pastalaya myself. That was PocheJP's recipe for the most part.
