I’m looking to get one. Solid cast aluminum grill, that gets pretty hot.

I finally retired my dad's PK after I blatantly neglected it and a hole rotted through the bottom.

Did I mention that it was going on 60 years old and despite being treated like absolute SHITE, left in the weather and otherwise just beat upon, it still worked great? It would have probably lasted another 60 if my dumb arse would have cleaned the 15 year old wet caked up 2” layer of old charcoal out of the bottom...

If I ever go back to charcoal, I’d get another one in a heartbeat. I’m obviously no BBQ connoisseur, but if you’re looking for a basic rock solid pit that gets it done, it’s my vote.

There was one on FB marketplace I was trying to grab for $85. They are 1000x better than the Weber kettle grill.

Never had one, but I might give it a shot if I ever came across a deal, just because Amazing Ribs is so high on them.

I’ve had one for quite a while, the original. Only drawback I’ve had is grilling surface area, I even bought the rack to give you more, but it makes things A little awkward. Other than that it’s awesome. Performs like a champ. It smokes well also.

The newer versions appear to correct the issue, but haven’t looked much into it because mine is still in tip-top shape.

I've had one for a couple of decades and love it. I've had it around salt water and never did much to take care of it. No corrosion to speak of. The grill grates rust out, but the body is rock solid.

My childhood buddy's dad had one. That's how I knew about them. Saw one in somebody's trash and couldn't resit grabbing it. I think they were tossing it because it had a wasp nest in it.

My only complaint is that the stand is so low. You have to crouch over to reach the food.

Got one for Father's Day. My Weber kettle was starting to fall apart, stumbled on the PK. Loving it so far, smoked some ribs couple weeks ago, easy to get the temp steady at 250 with the 4 vents.

Cons, small cooking surface and it is a little short, but I know it'll last me forever.

My dad still uses the one my grandfather bought years ago. He cooks on it weekly and it is still going strong.

Best grill I have ever owned. I have had it a little over a year. Easy to get to high heat (650) to grill steaks and easy to lower the heat. I expect to pass it on to my children and grandchildren. Will never purchase another grill.

I believe they are made in Little Rock. Like others above stated I’ve seen a lot of people my parents age that have had them for 40 years on up. Obviously they withstand the test of time.

The one drawback I've heard is that the grate surface is even with the sides of the grill base, so you can sometimes push your food off the grill by accident.

I would look at either a PK grill or a Weber Kettle if looking for a charcoal grill that will last and cook good.

I have a kettle, and what took me in that direction is the toys and accessories that I can buy for it.

Pk grills pretty much own the grilling portion of outdoor cooking competitions. Add the sear plates for awesome sears

My dog stands under it and stares at the ground for that very reason. He has had a coupe burgers cause I pushed them right off the back.

You can use a charcoal basket in one end, open the bottom vent under it and close the other. Close the top vent over the coals and open the top vent opposite. Put your food on the cool end and maintain 230 for 6-8 hours without touching it. It is a little low, but very capable. I bought mine at a garage sale for $50 and cleaned it up. Like new.

I believe they are made overseas now. The new 360’s anyway.
