You don't want anything to do with the area surrounding Hobby, take a cab or uber into town to eat.

You don't want to do much around there. Uber into the city for something good

The best BBQ in Houston is just 8 miles down 35. You can go for lunch (open 11-5), but you may be waiting in line for a while. Killens BBQ
You could also avoid Houston by going South to Perrys in Clear Lake, or just drive into town for a ton of different options.

I'm guessing you don't have a car and want to keep a taxi/uber to a minimum?
There are a couple good Vietnamese places (Noodles Inc and Pho Hai) in a strip center at Airport and 45 which is fairly close. If you don't want to go a little further, then you might just want to eat at the Airport.
ETA: You can always go to the Cockpit and just eat frozen pizzas at a dive bar.
