I know this is a stretch but I just can't bring myself to buy one from Kroger. I feel it would be an insult to my tastebuds.

I lived in Houston many years and never found a decent KingCake. You would do better importing one from back home.

Kroger is the only place I have seen them.

I never heard of City Bakery in Slidell, but someone from work ordered one this week and it was great!

Surely there is somewhere in town that has some "imported". Hell in Shreveport, Tubb's hardware has cakes from New Orleans shipped in daily!

Randazzo's is too darn expensive to have shipped. I just can't justify spending upwards of $50 on one king cake.

I got a slice from Acadian Bakery in my kitchen. A vendor brought it in today. He brought boudin too. I hope they keep buying stuff from him.

are you buying one for an army? You can get a small without the mardi gras pack from Randazzo's for just over $30.

Had one from Krogers for the Championship game.

It was a cinnamon roll with icing and colored sugar sprinkles.

Bleh, sometimes I really miss home.

I have no problem buying a king cake from a grocery store...I bought several from Rouse's in New Orleans, and they are delicious.

Like T-Bro said...Here in Houston the grocery stores pretty much just make a big cinamon roll and put sprinkles on it.
