Maybe he means near Ober Gb where the skiing is. Or maybe he is an idiot.
I will second the Bullfish Grill. It has a variety of food and it was very good.
A Fannie Farkle corndog is a must have when I go but I think it just reminds me of when I was a kid.
The Donut Friar in the village has some good breakfast items if you don't wanna wait at the Pantry or want to take them back to your room. Flapjacks on the south end of Gatlinburg is pretty good breakfast too and no wait usually. There are about 8 Flapjacks up there in the area but this one always seemed better to me. (Across from TGI Fridays)

Gatlinburg best eats = buy groceries and cook at the cabin

Probably one of the better places to eat. It's kinda like J Alexander's. They have a 5 cheese spinach and macaroni side dish that is actually pretty good.

This, unless Blackbery Farm is taking outside dining reservations. Local chains in the area as well Smokey Mtn Brewery has microbrews along with Calhouns and Cherokee Grill, all owned by same group.

I recommend the Park Grill, especially for the salad bar.
