Another one bites the dust, Slice on Magazine

"Goodbye, Slice on Magazine... Hello, Juan’s!
The owners of Slice Pizzeria have confirmed that their location at 5538 Magazine Street next to Whole Foods will be closing. No official closing date has been announced.
The location will eventually be converted into a Juan’s Flying Burrito, which will make for their second Magazine Street location. The uptown location of Juan’s will make for the fourth overall location in the city."

Even the 14th can't escape this.

Damn that sucks. Football season at the house won't be the same.

We went there quite often, does suck. Slice is one of the better places to get pizza.

Taco Loco sells tacos right across the street from there on Wednesdays. Wonder if they will still be able to do that with Juan's there.

Whatever happened to their brick and mortar?

It's always been a truck.

Is the Juan's Mafia going to run Taceaux Loceaux off? The truck tacos are better than the restaurant tacos in this case.

A truck that had plans to open a brick and mortar.

if I recall, Taceaux Loceaux was supposed to have opened a restaurant in LGD about 18 months ago.

Slice isn't in the top tier Pies around the city anymore, but how and the hell is Juan's doing well enough to be opening new spots?

It's damn good and can still have my money.

Aside from being able to order by the slice, I saw now reason to go there. Their pizza never tasted fresh and always seemed reheated. Not even in the top 5 of a city with few great pizza places.

Slice sucks. Glad they're leaving. Too bad Juan's is the replacement.

Pretty much. I live next door too Slice. If I want delivery, I get the spicy Mexican chicken pizza from Theo's uptown. If I'm going out for pizza, I go to Pizza Delicious. Mid-City pizza delivers uptown now too but I'm going to try it one more time before making a judgement.

I'll give you Theo's, my top 3 and go to, since it's easy to get to, Theo's rocks.
