Posted by TigerHam85 Check out the sixpoint brewery. I was going to last month but they were closed for renovations.

Theyve been closed for "renovations" since they opened. Pretty sure their beers are contract brewed and they just dont have a brewery or taproom.

Portland has 5 on the list. I've never heard of one of them, and never been to another one. Two bars that are normally on this list and not this year are Horse Brass and Apex Bar. They are probably rotating Portland establishments.

Horse Brass is known as the father of the Portland tap room scene. Fantastic tap list, but it has probably gone downhill since Don Younger died. Apex probably has what is probably the best tap list I have ever seen on a consistent basis. They have 50 taps and all of them rotate. You can consistently find Pliny the Elder there, and sometimes Pliny the Younger, but you will find a fantastic variety and a lot of world class beers. But get it now, because next month there will be a completely different list of beers.

As good as Apex is, I like The Beermongers across the street even better, and it is not on the list, either. Maven problems...

Belmont Station is fantastic. I have no qualms with that one being on the list. Great taplist and 1400 bottles.

ETA: Just checked the place I've never heard of. It's Belgian. Must check it out. Bazi Bierbrasserie. Looks fantastic.

Plus Deep Ellum outside of Boston, which is great

A Boston beer bar named after a Dallas neighborhood. Who'd have thunk it.

From the bar's website:
quote:

The name Deep Ellum refers to an area of Dallas known for its fabulous music, incomparable food and enticing nightlife since the early 1900's. The area has produced some of the most influential names in blues and jazz and today it is considered one the United States' touchstones for fashion, culture, art, food and above all, music.

Tapwerks in OKC may be the 3rdbest beer bar in that town-at best.

Criminal to leave out J. Clyde in Birmingham.

Portland is tied with Chicago and New York for the most beer bars on the list.

I've been to 3. I resolve to go to the other two.

Like I said earlier, there are at least 2-3 taprooms that I know of that deserve to be on the list over some that they selected.

What? Didn't we just have a thread discussing how shitty A Pub is?

How did it make this list?

I can vouch for Mikkeler bar and Blind Tiger as well. Had a blast at both places and both had excellent tap lists and good staff.
