Is this the first year in Baton Rouge? If not anyone know what the set up's like? I was wondering about the food. Website says they are offering food but no mention of what kind etc. ..

Homebrewers going? right now the tap list looks like something I could go into Calandros, Bin-Q, etc and buy.... are there other samples available?

It's a for profit event so no Homebrewers

Ah. that bites really, looks like a nice event to go and try a few beers if I had not had them before

That is most beer feativals. VIP gets you a few whales for another $40 or so. Beer Festivals sick IMO.

They had to work pretty hard to come up with a list that pedestrian.

Impressive!

No, it's about not shelling out money to go taste beers that can be purchased every where around town very easily.
With the addition of some good beer bars, I'm not sure I want to go back to these for profit corporate events. The International Beer Fest in Champions Square in Nola is the same way. The ticket master surcharges is just an extra slap in the face.

Give me Nola on Tap at City Park any day over these events. Awesome setting with plenty of home brewers as well as a great charity set up with the SPCA.

And I'm still bummed that the WYES festival is no more.

This x 1000

Just like everything else in this god forsaken it as become this huge festival. Great event for a good cause although I don't think I'm bringing the pouch next year.

Even though it was more crowded this year I was still able to sample a good bit and the lines were not bad. I want to bring the dogs next year but have to find a hotel that allows them as well.

Went to this last night. It was TERRIBLE. Very subpar beer selection, the lines were ridiculous, and the food was just your generic concession stand food. Huge waste of money!

There were only a handful of beers you couldn't get at your local grocery store.

My sentiments exactly!

I think that some of the vendors got their people working the booth from the day laborer pool. I almost had to help one dude open one of the beers.

He looked at the opener, then the beer, like he forgot how to use a bottle opener. It was very strange.

It was overall a very bogus experience and I definitely would not go back to one of their events.

The guy serving the Harpoon was like, "The beer is hot. I don't know? Want some?" That was the jankiest crap festival I've ever seen. Never again.
