This. It's just not good at all. Plus I don't enjoy standing in line to overpay for something I don't like in the first place.

I get coffee at CCs all the time and never get asked what flavor syrup I want. Do you always go out of your way to exaggerate and sound like the biggest snob on the planet?

You ask for a latte, and have never been asked what flavor you want? How about if you want a fricking croissant, not once, but twice?

No, maybe you just look like the kind of guy that likes syrup (no insult there, as I don't know what that kind of guy looks like, but maybe the workers do)

Never been asked twice, and being asked once doesn't bother me. What location do you go to? I usually go to the one on Vets by Toys R Us.

ETA: Regardless, Starbucks is doodoo.

At the drive up? No, it's their routine because most everyone apparently gets flavor added.

All over town. It's CC's shtick to ask you once when you order, and then again to see if you changed your mind in the past 10 seconds.

I don't really see how that impacts their actual coffee. CC's coffee is better than Starbucks. Is it a major inconvenience for you to say no?

I guess I'm either just not paying attention or that haven't been too good at keeping up their "schtick." I still don't see how it impacts their coffee's quality, which I thought was the point of this thread. And I still think you're exaggerating.

"Hi, welcome to CC's, can I interest you in a uber sweet pastry today?

"No thank you. I'd like a grande latte with an extra shot please"

"Would you like a flavor and whipped cream with that?"

"No thank you, just the coffee please"

"Would you like a uber sweet pastry to go with that?"

"No, that is all."

OK, well at least it's obvious you're exaggerating and just being your typical self now.

I do this every day, many times multiple times during the day. You just aren't paying very close attention. Try harder.

I love the Sumatra and Cafe Verona blend. I dislike the CC dark roast and I haven't had PJ's enough to comment. I do like some Caribou K cups.

CC's espresso is absolutely grotesque.

I find Starbucks to have a very unpleasant, acidic taste. I'll take a cup of Community over Starbucks every time.

This is an opinion, one I happen to disagree with. I'm also not from Louisiana, and while I've done no scientific research, every single person I have talked to that prefers CC's is from here.

That is not a bad thing, necessarily, unless like the OP you take extreme positions on products more popular in the rest of the country.

You're right, and probably why it reminds me of a McD's or BK experience.

almost every time I go to my local coffee shop, they ask me if I want one of the fresh baked cookies that they have sitting right next to the register

it doesn't bother me

Definitely not the case with me like others have mentioned in the thread, Starbucks coffee just has a taste I don't care for. I will say I enjoy their Blackberry Mojito Tea Lemonade, even though it's a mouthful to order

Besides the coffee I'm very impressed with the service. I don't actually order anything. When they see my car pull up precisely at 5:30 a.m. they start the espresso and oat meal. By the time I get out of my car, walk in and go to the counter it's already been rung up and waiting for me.

If I'm late and find myself behind a slow arse who is mesmorized by the menu board they fix my stuff and motion me to pick it up on the side. I pay for it when I'm finished.

If they are late opening up my stuff is free. On weekends my stuff is often free 'just because.' If there are no other customers when I'm in the comfy chair having my oatmeal and espresso the barristas discuss current events with me. Most of them are very intelligent young people working their way through college part time.

Not that that isn't nice, but I'm sure other coffee shops have regulars that get treated the same as you do.

That sounds like an awful lot of free though. Do you have friends that work there? Or are you perhaps their only regular?
