While we're piling on Albertsons... I also hate that the one on Essen/Perkins is now out of hand baskets and almost out of the smaller 2-level carts because they keep walking off.
This is why we can't have nice things, assholes.

yea i have always wondered about that... are they allowed to walk off with the carts?
Posted on 2/24/17 at 9:27 am to LSUvegasbombed
I'm sure most of the employees don't really give enough of a shite to stop them.

What is the deal with the smell in the butcher/seafood area - like is that one of their "signature" items? At the Hammond Albertson's it always smells like seafood was left in a hot car for a week. They could at least Febreeze it, since they sell it on aisle 10 or whatever.
And this store opened in 1985 and has never been remodeled, or from the looks and smell of it, cleaned since then. Also has a sketchy neighborhood right behind it, so frequent purse snatchings, along with the shoplifting.

I wouldn't care what they do on their off time off as long as the store was running efficiently. What's the worst that could happen? They might spend all of their paycheck on munchies when they get off of work?
Hire pothead
Pay pothead
Pothead spends check in store on snacks
Profit

I shop at that same store, and I agree with you. I do my shopping on Sundays and the lines are unbelievable. This wasn't always the case. In fact, I didn't notice it until after the flood. Though I wouldn't go on the record saying they're correlated.
Holy frick, yes. I went in for ~10 items a couple days ago and had to use a giant cart.
Also agree about the smell. Albertsons stores have smelled awful since I was a child. I can't figure out why.
All of this piling on, but it is still my go-to store. It is the closest to where I live. Only other in the vicinity is Robert's, which is nice but expensive and lacks a lot of the regular items I buy.

I have the same hiring problem in my store as Albertsons. It's the rule that we have to send new hires for a Drug Test if we hire them.. 80% are flunking the drug test. Really, it's a problem. The last 16 stockboys I tried to hire, 11 flunked the test. 3 out of 5 cashiers flunked it too. I guess in modern times, corporate stores are going to have to accept pot smoking in off times. We can't hire anyone 75% of the time.
It's hilarious to think that people need jobs yet choose drugs over work. I think that's more the problem than your store's policies.
With that said, I don't necessarily think drug testing is required for grocery store clerks. It's not as if they are performing surgery or flying airplanes.

it became noticeable about 2-3 months ago.
Hell, the manager is busting his arse trying to get people checked out and this happens on the reg now

Yeah, I don't notice an increase in customers so it must be an employment issue.

Walter's been moved to dairy? That's disappointing.

I've just about quit going there because it gets old having to deal with the bums there.

It smells like a dead animal in there.
Well, that's not surprising. The meat department's only job is to sell dead animals.

I've never smelled anything bad at the one closest to me, here in Lafayette. I would have to shop elsewhere, if I did. I shop at Rouses, as well, but the convenience of Albertsons close to me keeps me shopping there.

It's because they steam seafood in store. They need way better ventilation. It's bad when you can smell it as soon as you walk into the store.

I used to live in Kenilworth.
I remember that store. Saw a woman pay for groceries with an EBT card there, then drive off in a new BMW.
