A La Carte Taco Places Are Unreal

Is there anything hipsters do better than a la carte taco spots?
I usually scoff at hipster spots, but they absolutely kill it with these taco joint. Just went to a place with roasted corn, jalapeño, and cilantro guac. Then had some pineapple duck and who know what tacos followed by roasted pork and pickeled cabbage and other varieties of awesomeness.
I'm far from a foodie, but the combos they come up with for these tacos are unreal IMO.

Too bad they cost $5 a pop. That's the unreal part for me. 3 tiny tacos for $15. I'll pass

I got a friend who says this same kind of bs. How much does a burger and fries cost? Four tacos more than stuffs me, I'd gladly pay that over an average $20 dinner plate.

If you are paying $5 for tiny tacos, you're going to the wrong places.

No kidding.
I just try to go to where the Mexicans go. Maybe my places don't have thyme-infused mango glazed beef medallions, but they have fricking awesome carnitas.

Normal tacos don't cost $5 a pop. I'll gladly pay for an authentic Mexican taco. These hipster taco places like the OP describes are horrible and overpriced IMO
