None are surprising. I'm not sure why anyone would invest in the restaurant industry.

How so? Do you think they'll be nonexistent one day? I mean, there'll always be a need for them.

Don't go into the mall but did not realize Metry folks don't like $6 hotdogs.

I wouldn't invest in the Nola restaurant market scene. It's over saturated.

That makes more sense. Did you know, there are over 1450 restaurants in NO? That's insane to me.

I've seen that number I think on fitzmorris no menu site.

Doesn't that number include non Nola proper restaurants too? Nola proper is still saturated. Just wondering.

I am actually a Metry folk but we go into NOLA mostly to eat. Have not been into that mall in 5 years. Last time was to get some apple shite fixed.

I like Dat Dog too but the one right next to Adolfo's

I'll miss Oxalis, Primitivo, and Manhattan Jack.

GG's to a lesser extent.

Manhattanjack was a frequent stop when we lived by the Kingpin, but don't miss it anymore. I thought Altamura was originally gonna open in the house next door to Henry's, but that may be inaccurate. Either way, the spot selected was too ambitious.

I hit Il Posto a good bit, but much less after that French Truck coffee opened across the street.

ETA: and Gott Gourmet changing its name to GG's Dineorama was an awful decision. They had a decent brunch, but I went a lot less in the time after the change

Mizado closing messed me up that was one of my favorite dine and drink spots in the city.

Big Cheezy has two more locations being added on and CC's only shut that Canal location down because it was on the wrong side of the street. Shocked to hear it was the only drive through shop in Orleans parish. Is that accurate?

Cheesey Cajun was just okay and dreamy weenies wasn't that great.
Primitivo went downhill in it's second year, and F tastebuds for thinking Zea's is better tha Mizado's.

And they cut out dinner service at the same time. I walked by yesterday and there's a sign for new servers, dish washer, etc, so something new is coming soon.

I'm sorry for Back to the Garden. I used to eat lunch there with my father for years starting when they were on Lee Circle. It was a pretty good spot for a quick bite with some more healthy options, but when I was feeling for more unhealthy I'd go for the Friday catfish special. Good people, I'm happy they did well as long as they did.

Their quality went down in the past year or so. Originally had what looked like homemade chips and white queso, but switched to obviously bagged chips and some yellow queso crap. Their tortillas for their tacos also trended in a negative direction.
