AMEN. The cajuns (for the most part) won't be there with their hands out looking for someone else to clean up and give them handouts. The will put on their boots clean out the mud and get on with their life. Flooding is a way of life on the bayou and it is only the recent generation looking for someone else to pay for it.

I agree with your sentiment. I think the difference is that they aren't going to take it and then call the government racist/ commit fraud to get 15 checks and buy designer hand bags with it/claim that they have been on an over pass for 6 days 2 days after the flood starts.

No instead they are going to buy new loaded out 4x4 Trucks, loaded out double wide trailers, mack daddy 4 wheelers, bad arse fishing and hunting boats.....spend all they money they gete from FEMA on shite they already have and moved to higher ground

The primary difference is that when poor black folks get emergency assistance they are characterized as leeches but when poor white folks get it they are admired for their resilience in the face of disaster.
Also, the blacks will buy malt liquor with their assistance money, while the whites will buy Coors. That is a key difference.

Yeah sure, there are no poor white criminals in the country, got it. I'm sure that 100% of them are completely honest on their tax returns, so we wouldn't expect them to be dishonest on a claim for assistance in a disaster that the government essentially helped to make worse for them.

What amazes me about human nature is that, if these people would not be warned and told to evacuate, they would throw such a fit when the water shows up at their doorsteps. They would want to sue everybody! But they are warned to evacuate and know about the situation weeks in advance, and they are defiant and say "I aint leaven and yall cant make me"
