So it has been talked about before. Some say that he is worthy of a first rounder, some say that he is not. I have been doing some mock drafts picking him and some teams end up decent, some pretty terrible.

I want to know when the earliest that you would draft him would be.

Mid 2nd seems sensible to me... and I wouldn't knock someone for taking him earlier. I wouldn't put too much stock into some of the mock drafts you do either. The quality of the drafters could be terrible. People also check out early on those things. If you take Gronk early, there should be no reason you should not able to able to draft a good team.

It was actualy a computer generated mock. So i could do many of them. They only take about 5 or so minuts each. But yes. Some players may not draft very smart as you are saying.

I did have one mock draft where i drafted 12th. And i got ODB, DT88, graham, brees, joseph randall, ellington. I felt like that was a pretty solid list to start off the draft.

Every time i picked gronk late 1st i would usually end up with DT88. But then when the 3rd round cam arround there was not much to choose from for RB1. And few WR1s left.

Im starting to think that graham in the 3rd is a much better pick, or even olsen or owen daniels later in the draft.
Also thinking that Antonio gates can be gotten for pretty cheep. Still gives you a great TE and a WR1/RB1. Or 2 Elite WRs paired up with a pretty good TE.

But i realy dont know. I could still see the argument for taking gronk early

this is the answer

his positional value is unmatched.

He can outscore the #2 guy by 100 pts

By how much do yall think he outscores Graham?

By how much do they outscore

Olsen
owen daniels
Julius Thomas (jaguars suck, but he will be the main target)
Gates (can be gotten very late)

I guess that is where the strategy comes in.

Would you rather have 2 elite WR. Or an elite WR and RB paired up with any of the above players?

Or 1 elite WR or semi elite RB paired up with Gronk and then a well played draft to fill in for the lack of a 2nd elite Wr/rb

I want to say that the first choice seems better, but having a guy like gronk can be a very good luxury to plug him in and never have ti worry about TE (besides injury, etc.)

Any other year i would halpily take gronk in the 3rd/4th round and be happy, but this year it seems like he is going too high. But i could definatly have arguments for taking him early

Stick to the 3rd round plan and get Jimmy Graham. He's the better value this year at TE.

In a 12 team league, 10 or later. If TE is required maybe as early as 8. jmo

I took him in my PPR draft at pick 10, then picked up Julio first pick of round 2. Only in PPR would I take him that early. Not real happy with my RBs, but by pick 10, most were gone anyway.

Early 2nd round at best. He is essentially a top 5 WR. Not the best of the bunch so I'm not taking him in first. Too much of an injury risk and no QB through first 4 weeks.

Who's throwing him the ball first 4 week??? Not worthy of first round.

You pick TE in first round you are not winning your league
