unless its mock drafts with the people you're going to be playing with I'd say they're basically useless.

Well that's only one season. And I'm sure you didn't hit on all the rest of your picks. You won't win or lose a league with one pick. If your scoring system gives 6 points for a passing TD, you should grab one of the top QBs early.

Yea there's lots of ways to win championships. Knowing the scoring system is the #1 piece of advice I'd give to anyone. Nearly every scoring system favors one position over another. It's best to be elite at that position.

We do PPR 6 point all TD's. .1 per rushing and receiving. Ours favors a lot

Mocks aren't without some value. Trying out different strategies can allow you to get a high level view of what your team might look like with that strategy.
The problem with mock drafts, for me at least, is that all it takes is one jack arse taking his favorite player to ruin the value for you. IMO, you're better off putting the players in tiers based on natural breaks in projected stats (you can compile these from multiple sources as a baseline and modify them as you see fit). Then working with ADP for the site you're drafting on and overall ADP identify the best value players and target those guys in your draft.

You can have a strategy, but that strategy can be worthless depending on how the draft unfolds. I want Calvin again this year. I'll draft him #1 overall if I get the pick. But if I don't, I'll roll with the punches. If you get caught up in drafting acording to a set strategy, your fricked.

If you go in saying you're going to go wr, wr, rb or rb, rb, wr, etc and draft by position instead of player I think you end up losing value. I just try to get as many elite players as I can early and go from there
