I really thought having the loser's bracket decide draft order would prevent the complete sell-out.

But it's not the case. Guys would rather add 4th-6th rd picks then try and win Ben Simmons.

I typically trade my studs to upgrade and compete. But this year I decided to switch to the rondo strategy going forward.

That's the beauty of a keeper league my man. You say quit, I say building for next year.

Compare to my friends league. Same settings (12T, 5K). 2-3 trades a year occur. League is stale as frick. Half the teams don't set their lineup after Xmas. THAT is inactive.

Me too. That's why I suggested small changes that I think when combined, could help. And I agree with Tools below. Playing for the #1 pick in the LB does help.. but 1 small rule won't fix this problem, 4 or 5 rules together might help.

if duncan and tyreke didn't appear to have some serious injuries late in the game, i wouldn't have thought of consolidating players

neither is going to have much value in the trade market and both would cost way too much for replacement players (i know, i gauged the cost of lesser, but comparable, bigs left and it ranged from my 2nd to 3rd)

a week ago i was pretty strong against gyno and toula (not saying i would win, but i could compete and with some smart moves i could have a good shot). both made very good moves to really improve their team. even if i wanted to deal my pics for the perfect player, that value just wasn't out there anymore.

i'm at a #s disadvantage this week and would probably get 2 wins and 6 losses. nobes is going to overtake me and port may after next week if reke/duncan sit out next week (it looks likely as of now). i'm going to be on the bottom half of the bracket so 4-4 means i lose

Keep studs, trade away next years pick to compete.
Rinse, repeat.

A reasonable trade deadline woulda kept you in the mix. And a 1 wk playoff would at least give you a punchers chance vs the juggernuaghts if things bounce your way. And a 7th playoff team may have made me think about about hanging around a little longer


Playing for the #1 pick is absolutely keeping me from gutting my team for picks.
