I guess I should go start a thread about how I was an idiot for not starting Scott Chandler over Dallas Clark. I'm such an idiot!!

Yeah, but that still does not mean Steve Smith sucks. Just because he is not one of the three best receivers in the NFL does not mean he is bad.

Larry Fitz had arguably the WORST QB situation in the league last year...he had over 90 catches. So yea, top WRs can produce with shite arse QBs

Arizona had 561 passing attempts in2010 (11th most)
Carolina had 484 in 2010 (26th most)

Look at that I can manipulate stats to support my argument too

Who the frick cares how many times they threw the ball, we are talking about bad QBs and Fitz had one of the two worst QB situations in the league.

Ummmm.... If you throw the ball much much more, it is expected that your #1 reviever has more receptions than a team's #1 that threw it less.

Okay statboy, since you like stats, here you go...Fitz had 98% more catches while the offense only attempted 15.9% more passes.

Fitz had the 3rd most targets last year at 173 (incl playoffs) S. Smith had 99.....

Okay statboy,

You started with the stats. I'm just showing you stats don't tell near the full story. And fitz, with his 90 receptions, did not actually have a great %CR... but I would never say that he is a bad WR just based on Stats... which is what you did initially.

You were the one who brought up the pass attempts stat, I was just showing you where you were wrong. If you would have followed up that stat with targets, then it would have been a legitimate argument.

#s are the only thing that matters in fantasy...and every player is judged by what numbers they put up. People are proclaiming that DeAngelo Williams is a crapp RB right now. Skill wise, he is easily top 10 in the league.

The entire premise of this thread was about Steve Smith's potential to be good again. Potential to put up good fantasy numbers this year. However as things have changed on their team, just last years statistics aren't quite the entire story.

It's the potential to put up good #'s THIS year.

Smith would have been a 22 point swing for me today, and I'm down by 45 right now with Brady and Moreno still to go

But I don't consider Steve Smith in the top 10 skill wise so no I didn't
