I think that was one of the most mind boggling decisions I've made in fantasy football.

Before the games started, starting Steve Smith on any roster was pretty stupid. He is not good to begin with and has Cam throwing to him. He just benefited from a busted coverage for a 70yd td

Not sure about that. He has never had a decent QB since Jake Delhomme.

Okay that is a fair enough argument...Cam Newton isn't any better than the shitty QBs he has had over the past 3 years. Reason enough to not go into week 1 starting him

Uhh...

Cam Newton will be a serviceable fantasy QB. Some weeks he will put up big numbers because of Smith's deep threat and his rushing ability. Good backup in a deep league.

Under 1000 the past 2 seasons. There is no reason to think Cam can come in and change that number.

That is because no one could get him the ball. Andre Johnson would "not be good" if Jimmy Clausen was the QB by your standards.

Is Cam that good? Or is this just a good game?

Cam > Clausen/Moore, which is why Smith's numbers should be better than last year. No, Steve Smith will likely not return to his elite days where he was a top WR 1, but he will probably be worth the start in most leagues sooner than later.

I have no idea, it's the 1st half of the 1st game of the season.

But he has thrown some nice passes and seems to have a connection with Smith.

So you are saying a dual threat rookie QB is the answer?

I totally disagree

Nobody would be good with Clausen. Can't be a good WR if the ball doesn't get there.

No, but I think he will be marginally better than Clausen, which should help Smith. I think Smith will get way more targets this year also.

You are contradicting yourself. If Andre Johnson puts up shitty numbers, then he is "not good", according to your standards. You just said that about Steve Smith. Steve Smith put up shitty numbers, but he is still talented as frick.

Larry Fitz had arguably the WORST QB situation in the league last year...he had over 90 catches. So yea, top WRs can produce with shite arse QBs

I said I disagree b/c he wouldn't put up shitty numbers with a shitty QB. Exhibit A- Larry Fitz

Larry, Calvin, and AJ are all in a class of their own when it comes to talent
