Not sure if any of you remember (or cared lol) but a few weeks ago, I posted that my commissioner had cost me the #1 seed.

Long story short, had an opponent who didn't set his lineup and played an inactive Matt Jones, commish swapped him out for Matt Asiata who ended up being the difference in our game, costing me the W.

Welp, flash forward and I lose out on the bye and #1 seed, get eliminated wildcard weekend. Last week, would have killed my opponent by 34 points and this week, I'd be up 20.5 - 10, my Odell Beckham to his Ryan Mathews/Zach Ertz. Anyway, just needed to vent, sorry for ranting lol.

Fwiw, he offered to let me choose my draft pick next year as "compensation".

The commish did this on his own? Was this a deadbeat owner who quit halfway through the season and the commish did it all year or did he just decide he didnt want you to have an easy win?

This was the first and last time he did it. He still stood by it and claims it was in the interest of "fair competition" but what pissed me off is Matt Jones was ruled out two days before this game, the guy just didn't care because he was 3-4 I believe. After this, there was never really any issues with people not setting lineups. He also never text the guy asking him about it, he just did it.

Commish should not be setting other lineups unless someone is unable to be by a computer and they tell the comission who they want in.

To go ever further he should post a screenshot to the league saying who that owner wants in.

Fair competition is everyone setting their own lineup. It's one thing to intentionally bench all their players. It's another to keep a player ruled out in

we have a standard in our league that the commish is able to do this is someone just fails to keep tabs on their team. You lost fair and square, i have to say

if your in a competitive league you shouldnt have to worry about people not setting their lineup. It happens once in a blue moon in my league, and as a commish, i am able to put in a player from the bench if someone doesnt do it.

people always want to worry about trade collusion, but this falls under the same umbrella. If you cant set your lineup, you are screwing with the competitive balance. Why the frick would someone want to win any other way?

I agree with Lester.

1.) Ideally you shouldnt play in a league where people stop setting lineups every week especially if money was put on the line by every owner.

2.) as long as this was the only time someone was intending to play someone in their lineup that was designated as out(that was not a gametime decision) I am fine with the intervention.

3.) That owner better have a valid excuse for not changing his lineup on his own or he should be removed from the league.

Yeah, we def don't agree on this.
Im in leagues on here that are some of the most competitive. Every year someone fails to set a lineup. I've yet to see the commission step in and alter that persons lineup..

I think it should be on the league to police the league.

Everyone in the league should be invested in their matchups along with the matchups around the league that could shape the playoff picture.

If I play someone in a 9 on 9 every week I expect everyone else to face a similar path.

I can get it if the team was banking on a star player clearing a game time decision if he was probable/questionable heading into the game and he thought player X was going to play

However leaving a blatant doughnut in the lineup for several days/all week before game day IMO is inexcusable and could easily be argued as collusion.

He is giving his opposition either intentionally or unintentionally a direct advantage that could alter the entire season for the rest of the league.

Ok, if a owner is benching a player who is projected 18 points for a guy who is projected 5 points, does the commissioner step in and change that for the integrity of the league?

this sucks bc someone gets an automatic win. the guy not setting his lineup could GAF about a loss, in the end it just affects the rest of the league and not the shithead who quit

Its pretty lame when someone is not invested in their league win or lose but at the same time I'm not babysitting someone else's team. Ideally, everyone should be in a good league with dedicated players.

not the argument. I expect every owner to make their own projections and make the best plays for their team(it is not my job to decide the better play). I expect them to be able to decide that on their own.

A locked in doughnut is never a better play.

The only fault I would give the commish in OP's case is that he should have put the owner on blast in the league message boards, then told the league that if player X was still in lineup before kickoff the commish would alter the lineup to insert a usable play.

There should have been complete transparency with the move and the league should have complete knowledge of the situation.

Everyone CWill is in. I remember LooseCannon or someone doing it in Regulars towards the end of last year.

You and LE even forgot to set it in TDBA when I was playing y'all.

It happens.
