Playing in a fairly standard FFB league - one starting QB.

We can keep one player from the prior year for a pick in the round earlier than the prior year. Once you give up your 1st round pick that's the last time you can keep the player. If the player was selected in the 8th round or later, the cost is a 6th round pick.

I drafted Josh Allen a few years back and have the option to keep him in exchange for a 4th round draft pick.

I also drafted Mahomes last year in the 3rd round, so I have the option of keeping him for a 2nd round pick.

What's a better deal?

Allen obviously

Was this really a question for you or did you just want everyone to know you had Allen and Mahomes?

I don’t understand drafting Mahomes in the 3rd round last year, if OP had already kept Allen for a 5th. In a 1QB league, that’s just a waste of valuable draft equity.

Not really.

Allen was my lean, just thinking I may be missing something

Also not really.

Nobody is a guarantee in NFL. Ever.

Okay, that's a given.

Just saying that you had Allen at 5 and chose to pick Mahomes in 3 also. I don't see the strategy or roster construction in that. Might as well keep Mahomes for a 2 and draft Hurts in 1st round this year if that's the thought.

I hear you. Prior year I came in last so I had the first pick overall. I was concerned that I’d have a poor backup option waiting until the end of the 6th or early 7th so I took Mahomes there.

Worked out fine, came in 3rd after finishing last the year before.

But I agree, it prob wasn’t necessary because I couldn’t play them both.

How many teams are in this league? I wouldn’t pick Mahomes in the 2nd on a full redraft unless maybe it’s 14+

Allen is the best value here for a 4th, depending on if you need to pick a keeper. I devalue QBs usually depending on format, but not always. If it’s some 8 team league that have been mentioned here, I wouldn’t keep either.

10 teams in the league. Like I said I am thinking it’s Allen. My other keeper options are poor. I guess maybe the real question is do I just let Allen go too.

You probably would have won the league if you would have picked up someone that would actually help you weekly instead of wasting an early pick on a second elite qb

I posted the same earlier in the week. Had Allen with a 2nd round pick, and Mahomes with 4th. Ended up keeping Mahomes with the 4th round pick. We’ll see how it goes.

Allen’s been top tier elite in most scoring formats for years now. Keep him, take elite weapons above him and be fine with not looking great if he gets hurt.

You play to win the league, not to brag about being third
