Earl, got offered a job in the Metairie area. Went to look at home prices in the area. Fuuuck that.

Is the only place for a family to move into a house that isn't 40 years old, > 2,000 sq ft, and doesn't cost half a million St. Tammany?

Just seems like a lot of work to find something for good value then easily be able to sell it when we're ready to move back.

Ascension prices can get fricked too.

Seems to be close to the same. Nicer neighborhoods, but 400-500k for anything over 2,000 sq ft. that looks newer.

Port, I know it's weird, but Les, Lester, LE, doesn't roll off the keyboard like Earl

You won't find anything worth a shite less than $200/sq ft.

Salaries are starting to compensate for high cost of living, especially to people that need to relocate.

Bang for the buck is Northshore. But I'm okay getting fisted for home prices, insurance and property taxes to have a minimal commute.

Yap. I have tons of coworkers that do that commute everyday. I have no idea how. Causeway sucks.

If you get up early, the commute isn't bad. I love me some Old Mandeville. In this state, I'm doing private school unless I live in Zachary.

Yeah, Mandeville/Covington are decent enough. I would hate to commute from there into NOLA though.

I have coworkers who commute daily from Lafayette and Slidell into BR. I don't know how they do that.

Slidell is the absolute crotch of the northshore

Abita and Covington aren't too bad.

My big gripe with that area is the people live in a bubble and are seemingly unaware there is an outside world.
