I see ppl posting about winning their Championships in FFL but two of the leagues I am in (ESPN) have double week playoffs...what is most common? One and done leagues with the last week being this week...or double week games ending next week?

We have always done 4 teams head to head for two weeks. I was 13-1 going into the finals. Lost to 4th place team due to him having Woodhead and Cam....My team was far and away the better team all year long. Next year we will be going to a two week playoff with total points, I think it helps eliminate the one week somebody gets luck. This week my team has 148 pts, the two teams in the championship have only 78 and 71 points.

I prefer one and done, seeded by total points.

Agreed, I am not a fan of the 2 week cumulative point matchups. If this was baseball or basketball where they play best of 5/7; then I would agree with it.

I'm trying to get one of my leagues to go that route, but the only way I would do playoffs by total points is if the entire league is total points. I.e., top 5/6 scores win each week, no more head-to-head. Without that change, I would not care for the total change in set-up.

On that note, I have a friend that wants to do away with weekly victories and have the champion be determined by most points after 16 weeks. Not sure how I feel about that. if we had that rule in affect this season, only 3 teams would have cared after week 12 (250 point difference between 3rd & 4th highest scoring teams).

Double week playoffs are stupid... do we play two super bowls IRL? Part of the beauty of it is that luck and random shite happens...

I'm the opposite. Anything to negate the luck and randomness is better IMO.

That said, 2-week playoffs is rare.

I played in one league like that a few years ago- after the 8th week...the lowest total points got eliminated and subsequently each low team was cut after that week...it was pretty awesome because their players became free agents, so as long as your stayed above the line- you could pick up some great players.
