Do I have wait a week if I try to claim someone I dropped?

You will get him on October 14th. But I would contact the commissioner and explain to him what happened. If it's a competitive league, the answer should be tough sh!t. But if it's a friendly league, the commish should put him back on your team without you having to use your waiver claim.

ETA: if it is a friendly league, the commish doesn't have to wait until next week to put Gore back on your team. He can do it today.

In most leagues, the default is 2 days for dropped players. Since Gore plays tomorrow night, it pushes it back to next week. I don't know how your waivers work.

I thought a player had to clear waivers before you can pick him up if you dropped him. Having the ability to drop a stud and pick him up due to waiver priority would give you a competitive advantage.

Beware - In yahoo leagues, you cannot claim a player that you put on waivers. So, you may have to let him run through waivers first. I don't know if other leagues do this too.

I dropped Karlos the Magnificent so that I could grab Fred Jackson, only to cockblock the Lynch owner. I thought McCoy would be back. Then, when I found out he's not back, I figured I have no. 1 waiver priority. Alas, I cannot claim the guy I sent to waivers, so I lost him.
