With himy undoubtedly returning to practice this week, what can we realistically expet from him moving forward? Knowing that Sleevless Hoodie himself likes to distribute the ball amongst rbs week by week and Blount and White having good seasons thus far as well.

I'd expect him to supplant White. When both played last year there was no comparison between the two, Lewis is the better player by a good bit.

They are gonna save him for the playoffs

IMO if that was the case they wouldn't have him practicing yet. Within 3 weeks of practice he has to be on the active roster. If they were saving him they would've waited longer for him to practice so they could've had 3 weeks from that date to bring him on to the active roster.
If you are a White owner you have to be happy with what you got out of him, but soon he will be handing the job over.

James White led all players last year in fantasy points per touch and is currently PFF's top graded pass catch RB this season
Lewis is worth a flier but that backfield could get messy. The Pats will still have 3 weeks to activate Lewis once he practices, so him practicing doesn't necessarily mean he's ready

What are the odds Dion Lewis plays this week?

Not this week, prob week 10 debut.

Lewis is just as good a pass catcher, probably better and a better runner between the tackles which gives them an extra dimension of not being predictable

Lewis average 18+ fantasy points per game last season, White with one 18 point game this season.

reckon Belichick doesn't put much stock into these. healthy Lewis last season was the clear #1.

This issue isn't who is better as they are as close to the same player as any duo in the NFL
The issues lies in how quick they rush Lewis back with White doing well, Lewis's effectiveness, potential time split. Though Jam Charles would've put this into perspective for people in regards to ACLs
Lewis didn't practice today either fwiw

FOXBORO -- Dion Lewis is reportedly set to return to the practice field this week, per NFL Media's Ian Rapoport, and you should expect the Patriots to move carefully as the running back edges closer to a return.
The team will have until November 16 to decide whether to activate Lewis, who tore his ACL last season against Washington on November 9. The ACL healed fine for Lewis after surgery was performed by renowned sports orthopedist, Dr. James Andrews. But knee pain that developed during the summer was found to be a patella stress fracture. That kind of injury is rare but not unheard of after ACL repairs as quadriceps flexion can put stress on a grafted area (and Lewis has giant quads). The remedy is inserting screws in the patella which was done in Lewis’ case.
Now, with the “clock” started on Lewis’ return from the PUP (Physically Unable to Perform) list, determining how well he responds to the increased workload of practice and then padded practice and hitting will be the next step in determining whether he returns by the middle of next month or is put on IR.
Meanwhile, the performance of James White so far has mitigated the sting of Lewis’ absence. While Lewis’ return wouldn’t be accelerated based upon on-field need – this isn’t a “rush ‘em back”-type injury – the team has to feel a little less urgency given White’s contributions so far as a runner and receiver. White is on pace for a career year, with 27 receptions for 244 yards and three touchdowns.

1st time hearing about @DionLewisRB patella stress fracture. Not an unheard of complication after ACL surgery. Proceed with caution.…
