I like both. I can get the delica 4 for 60 and the mini grip for 85-90. Is the mini grip worth the extra?

What's the difference between vg10 and 154cm? I saw a cabelas version of the mini grip with d2 steel for 95.

I'm replacing a Kershaw leek.

Also, if you have any place I can get either cheaper, that would be great if you could share. Tia

Any delica owners care to share their experience and enlighten me if they can close 1 handed with the rear lock?

Very little in terms of practical EDC use.

$10 more for a steel that isn't as suitable as 154CM for pocket knives.

Thank God.

Outside of blade steels it's a matter of ergonomics. I really like Benchmade's Axis system. Does need more attention than the simple lockback of the Spyderco. Spyderco will be thinner, lighter, and the thin grind profile of the VG10 blade will allow it to take an extremely fine edge if you wanted it to. I keep looking over Mini Grips but they are not as good a value as they were when they were $50 - $60 and 440C.

My current pocket knife is a $250 Microtech Ultratech S/E with an Elmax steel blade. Not terribly practical but more fun...

Go Delica or better yet endura.

I carry a flat ground Endura and it is by far my favorite of any knife I have ever owned. Easy to open and close with one hand. Holds a super sharp edge that's easy to touch up on a Spyderco sharpener. I'm sure that some of the higher priced knives might even be more impressive, but for an EDC, I'll stick with the Endura until further notice.

Get the Spyderco Delica, Endura, or the new Para 3 Lightweight. The thumb stud and Axis lock on Benchmade knives will scratch everything that happens to be in the same pocket with it.

Are Microtechs deserving of the hype?

4.5 year thread bump, good job somebody...

They are very well made knives, especially amongst automatics. I have a mini SOCOM Elite too and it's built like a Swiss watch. My EDC is generally a Benchmade though.

Love watching these BladeHQ guys' Youtubes . this one is where they go around the office, and get everyone's EDC's.

The bad part is the videos have cost me the same way this board does.

The stud on Benchmade knives has always worn a hole in my jeans

Grips have thumb holes and the only wear on my jeans from my knives are where the pocket clip goes. Emerson knives will mark their territory fast, strong clips and scale texture/material.

I’ve had a mini grip for years but I really like those glow in the dark scales. Where would I find some of those?

Yeah, I just got Mrs. Midnight a Delica. I like a little bigger blade, so I'm going Endura for myself in the near future.

I'll also tell you one to not sleep on - the Riuke P801 knives are legit. $40 to $50 bucks - frame lock on bearings (if you like a good flipper). It's a Sandvik steel (originally contracted for Kershaw, IIRC), that's roughly equivalent to VG-10.

I would almost take it over either a mini grip (and I love the axis lock) or delica/endura for an EDC at this point, and at a lower price.
