Obviously Western diplomacy is not phasing this dictatorship.

The go to answer has normally been seen as a 'power play' by North Korea, whenever a missile test occurs.

What can be done to bring this country into the 21st century, in a most efficient and humane manner? The majority of their population is basically 60+ years behind, I can't imagine the shock.

NK won't make a move. Many products sold in the USA that are marked "Made in China" are actually made in NK.
NK doesn't want to lose that market.

I think this could be a shining moment for Trump. Let other countries show their disdain without America leading the way.

I'd be more than perturbed living in Japan and being told to shelter when a N. Korean missile flew over me.

When has a country ever succeeded, without war, to show their military prowess?

South Korea and Japan will have to announce their intentions to begin installing their own nuclear arsenals which China will not stand for. Only then will we see any progress made.

Ultimately nothing is gonna happen to this frick. We have passed the point (thanks Clinton/Bush/Obama) where diplomacy could have done anything. And we don't have the stones to engage militarily preemptively.

It's not a bout "stones" as much as it is rationality. A preemptive strike would most likely cause more problems then it would solve.

And yet, through all three administrations, nothing happened.

Its too late. A rogue nation has the bomb, another rogue nation will soon have the bomb as well. We'll continue passing the buck down the line as has happened for the past 25 years.

Let The Worm go for another visit and smooth things over. Rodman can sign another jersey and slam dunk a treaty.
