You mean we have t been the best offense since around the time the Astros lost Springer and Correa?

Whaaaaat? That's. Crazy. Man.

These are how playoff games are going to go...gotta get the good pitching and get a few hits in the right spot along the way.

That was all pitching. Kudos to Davis for the HR and springer bregs and reddick for that lead run. Defense was solid. Hitting needs to get much better but a win is a win.

I'm liking how McHugh looks too. Pitching is coming around.

Damn, wouldn't Kate Upton look good in that baby blue and orange jersey though?

I disagree with the notion that our offense is in trouble. Who has had major regression besides Reddick and maybe Marwin and Yuli?

-Altuve is MVP front runner

-Correa has been out

-Harsh to say Springer at this point. If he struggles for another 2 weeks then maybe

-Bregman is having an unbelievable 2nd half which kinda cancels out 1 of the guys who have regressed

-McCann and Beltran are probably having the worst offensive seasons of their careers, and that's been pretty steady all year

-3rd OF spot has been consistently inconsistent all year

I really think taking Correa out of the lineup makes that big of a difference. It changes how batters around him get pitched to. If we take our lineup from April-June and switch Bregman and Reddick in the order, I think it's just as lethal

I don't disagree w any of that except to say that you excepted 3 everyday guys and fail to realize McCann has had a definite regression.

You missed my point. I wasn't arguing that we've seen polar opposites in each half, just pointing out odds were the same for that to happen in each.

There is no doubt injuries have taken their toll, just as they have in Washington, New York, etc. But those teams made moves to improve not only at deadline, but there have been several teams that have suffered the loss of every day players post-deadline that have made moves.

Aside from the obvious effect that has in personnel options for that team, it has just as much of an effect on morale.

Or maybe the team wasn't that good to begin with and pitching wasn't going to help that much.

No one was clamoring to add offensive players, and that is the sore spot of the team right now.

Best bullpen in the AL in August, starting pitching has been more than enough.

Several of us were on the rental bat train.

1 rental bat doesn't help the 3 that have regressed. The offense will come around, just like the pitching has

But it would help the offense's bottom line.

Maybe, or they could suck.

Because we have a "toxic" atmosphere

Upon further inspection, Lance wasn't as wild as it seems on the surface. Looking at the pitch locations on gqmeday, he was hitting edges and really got squeezed. On 4 of the walks, strike 3 should have been called. The 5th walk was intentional.

The link isn't working but you can get to the play by play through Fresno's website and see the locations for yourself.

Outside of that one bad start, McCugh is pitching fricking phenomenal since coming off the DL. I'm happy to see him put in several good outings.
