It's a shame George can't get on base for all of these bregman hits.

Some thoughts on the offense:

Springer hasn't gotten his groove back.
The 2017 MVP is out with a stiff neck.
The best Offensive SS in the AL is on the DL.

When those three guys are fully back, this team will be putting up nasty numbers again.

Now, the sad news:

LMJ: 3IP, 3H, 3R, 5BB, and 1K
Sipp: 1IP, 0,0,0
Harris: 1IP, 2H, 2R, 1BB, 1K

You're seeing a microcosm of our problems on offense. Reddick should have been 3-0 but he swung at two balls to fall behind.

ETA: got a hit but a ton of guys are swinging at crap.

You know, Marwin used to have success calling timeout before pitches and then getting a hit. Now when he does it he usually strikes out. The everyday playing time is starting to bring him back to role player status.

Marwin has reverted to chasing every breaking pitch below the knees. AKA the difference between .260 and 13 homers vs .300 with 20 homers.

I really hope no one refers to us anymore as the best offense in the league. We have scored the most runs to this point. But we haven't been the best offense since the twins series away.

The odds that every Astro in the lineup would have career best half seasons and set offensive records is equal to the odds that every player would suffer a correction to the mean in the next half season and struggle to score 3 runs per game.

Now, the fact that it would happen coincidentally with the trade deadline and disappointment surrounding our FO's lack of moves definitely stinks to high heaven.

When I think of the attitude of this team going into that New York series there, then the one back home, it leaves no doubt in my mind that the lack of urgency at the top with such a big lead, and Hinch's laissez fare lineups with R&R being the theme, have led to the players lack of fire and subsequent poor performances.
