PlayStation Vue. It's worth it.

In-laws have Directv and it goes out pretty much every time it rains. You can imagine how annoying that has been lately.

I have DirecTV Now, which is their streaming service that uses internet rather than satellite, so it doesn't go out. I like it, it's definitely worth it for the price ($35 a month for my plan, including HBO).

DirectTV is usually cheaper for what you get. It also tends to fog out anytime it rains hard, sometimes when it drizzles.

Go for it, OT is very understanding of this life-changing decision.

I am pretty fed up with Cox. Do I really have any other option for wireless? For what we pay for wireless, cable is only $40sh more. Id cut cable and wireless if I could find another option for wireless.

AT&T isn't an option. House is in Nola.

I have DirecTV for 3 years now. Have had it go out twice when it rained between Virginia/California during significant storms. The stuff people are mentioning has not been my experience

I'm switching over to Uverse on Wednesday. $105/month for cable and internet (50mb). Better than the $170 I pay for cox and the cable randomly going out. Cox customer service sucks and I'm tired of dealing with them.

Thought about cutting the cord but some of the streaming services just upped their prices so a wired internet for about the same or $5 more a month makes sense to me.

How often has your internet access been going out? I've had to reset my modem everyday this week and have had 2 different techs out here this week too. We have new cables and a new modem.

When it goes out I have to turn off the modem and router, disconnect the coax cable (which makes no sense to me), wait a couple minutes, then reconnect and power back up.

A couple of times a week seems about right for both cable and internet. I had a technician come out once and tried to charge me an $85 fee for the service call, probably the only time cox did right by me when they reversed his charges. He said it was user error when everything was working fine when he was there. Luckily I had multiple customer service calls on record before he came out.
