If Duke fell one more spot and we picked him instead of Anzalone, the people hating on draft would be calling it the best draft we've had this decade.

I think that's the lowest I've seen anyone put Cleveland. Although the guy does say he graded them "on a curve because they ended up with 3 first round picks".

I agree that the Saints' draft has the makings of a good one. Of course they say it takes awhile before you can truly grade a draft.

The Patriots used their draft picks to get "now" players like Brandin Cooks and Kony Ealy, so that should be factored in here.

This never gets factored in for us with guys like Vilma and Shockey. I feel a couple of our drafts were harshly criticized because these guys weren't factored in.

But then you know the Pats can do no wrong.

Well maybe if we had the patriots success we'd get the benefit of the doubt more. Also those trades happened before social media made sports media all hot takes all the time.

We did though. We won the SB and had an awesome 3 year run (hell awesome 4 out of 5 with the bad year being bounty gate). Yet everytime we talk Saints drafts here no one ever talks about getting Shockey and Vilma, yet they were EXTREMELY vital pieces to that run (well Vilma was; Shockey was still important).

And I meant more here than public media. Because I know people here will read that and suck off the Pats, yet those same people will bitch about our drafts.

I'll say it: Browns' draft was overrated.
Garrett's a liability against the run; fine for an edge, but not so fine for a #1 pick.
Peppers is a tweener that may not fit into a position.
Kizer isn't anything special; probably just a mid-rd project.

Not many surefire fixes in that bunch, just a lot of "names".

I thought it was stupid that it was "graded on a curve" because they got those picks somehow so it should be about who they got, not handicapping because they had more.

That said I also think the guys they got are overrated (though Garrett will still be good; just don't think he'll be an elite end). Looks like a typical Cle draft of big swings and potential misses.

Though I'm a little higher on Kizer than most here probably are. I think he could start and be a low end starter. Don't think he'll ever be higher than mid tier starter though.

yeah pretty hilarious they give NE credit for the guys they got from trading away draft picks but then graded Cleveland on a curve bc they had a bunch of draft picks....

Yup. That said I won't argue the rankings too much (if we are counting players traded for picks). I thought Car and Atl did a shite job addressing their actual needs and only got good value in their first rounders (though looking into Tak beyond his play, that dude looks like a loose cannon about to go off).

TB did well enough if Howard is legit, but they whiffed on their last TE everyone thought would be a stud.

I could be wrong, but I was waiting to see who took Peppers & Adoree Jackson(not counting punt/kick returns) in the 1st round. Those were high bust potential guys imo. I had them in the same category as Obi M.
