Need car audio help (speakers). Two questions.

1) how do I know what kind of speakers I have?
2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee with customer preferred audio package 26e with Sun/Sound audio
Front speakers are 6x9s and back 6 1/2s.
They sound awesome and want some for my wife's car. What kind are they?
2) that leads me to question 2. What are the best bass speakers for my wife's car?
2007 GMC Yukon.
6 1/2s in front AND back.
I know that a sub in the back would be ideal but I only want to buy what will currently fit.
I appreciate any help.

I'm sure there's plenty of sites that will answer all these questions.
Crutchfield is a great place to start.

I tried some of those sites and didn't have much luck which is why I posted it here.
I'll continue to look though. Thanks!

I'll be honest with you, you're never gonna get good bass with regular speakers. It's not even gonna be anything I'd consider acceptable. Any sub, even a small 6.5" one will sound better.
And, you technically can get factory Chrysler speakers, they'll cost you as much as getting a top of the line set from an aftermarket company

Bass by itself is the wrong word to use with door speakers. I'd use the term mid bass for those. I got some Polk MM components (separate tweeter with crossover) excellent mid bass but I also am running 130 watts RMS to them. I'd assume you won't be running an amp which will hinder your output. In this case a sub would be better for bass. A small powered sub would most likely be good for you. Rocksford Fosgate makes a popular one on Amazon. Other than that, if the door speakers are 6x9s the JBL GTO 939 is popular. You can run 6.5s in the 6x9 slot by adapter. Crutch field will include this. Once you go into 6.5s, you will have a much larger selection. A good lower cost would be Polk DBs with the MM being the better. Hertz makes a speaker (dcx) that is designed to run with head unit only power.
