It's been hit or miss. Can't go wrong with their raw oysters (although a little pricey) and their fried bell pepper rings. Ordered cup of seafood gumbo and half of a shrimp po-boy last week. Gumbo was solid, po-boy was pretty meh. I'll still be going back periodically.

Has been awhile but last time my son and I went there after a pretty long wait ( it was lunch time) had ordered a shrimp po boy and a fried fish po boy, large fry to split.
Received two oyster po boys. Didn't have time to reorder so we ate the oyster po boys which were really good. Never brought the fries.
Sweet tea and Coke were ok.

I've not been since the renovations because I'm not mentally over the reported issues before they shut down. I'm sure the renovations fixed problems so it's just a mental block. They're why I don't look up health code violations anymore, I'm happier being ignorant.

The no problems man was an abomination. Special Man didn't need that sidekick.

I went the other day, their Red beans are very good. I also like their Roast beef poboy. The pepper rings are great, just wish you could get a small order. Love the place. It is what it is, a neighborhood rest. with good food, not great food.

After reading all their issues, it's hard for me to go back but I always liked the place.

The Morrell family owns the building and used to run the place years ago. They started to lease it to outside people to run and just collect the rent. Thats when all the problems started, the Morrell family evicted the people that were running Frankie and Johnnies, renovated it and is now being run by the Morrell family again. Like I said, it's not great food, but specials are good and the po-boys are a favorite.

I believe the shut down was in 2013, then renovations and reopening in 2014.
