Worms in your duck breast, fish, rabbit, etc...

Everybody has seen them, but is anybody cooking/consuming meat that is littered with these little rice sized worms? I can't bring myself to cook it...

Coyotes gotta eat too.

I've never seen "rice worms" but I've caught many a speckled trout that have spaghetti worms. I pull them out just because, but they aren't harmful to humans

On the rare occasion there is a worm or two in a fish, i generally either cut it or pick it out. If there's a ton, I might throw out the filets.
Duck breast parasites (that cause 'rice breast'; the rice looking stuff is not actually the parasites if I remember correctly but they are caused by them) cannot live in humans but given how squeamish my wife is already, I just toss them. It's been pretty rare in my experience so not a huge deal.

Get them a lot in specks later on the summer. They fry up good

I cook them in specks and never notice a difference.
I threw away the last duck I saw with rice worms

The white things you see in duck breasts are not worms. They are cysts left over from a microscopic parasite. They cause absolutley no harm to humans. So people that throw these ducks away are just wasting. And if you are disposing of the birds you better be doing it correctly so that you do not continue the cycle of these parasites.

They may not cause harm but they do leave a chalky texture in the meat. Are you really surprised that a lot of people won't stomach eating a piece of meat full of chalky cysts?

Never had a problem with "chalky texture "
They all eat the same.

I'm Just saying if you complain about this parasite then you better dispose of the carcass correctly. Because if you don't then you are only continuing the cycle witch makes people wasteful hunters.
I on the other hand don't have to do a damm thing because I'm not a pussy
I have consumed many ducks with cysts and it doesn't bother me one bit. Eat what you kill is something I learned at a young age.
