It's not likely that a full on ban would even be possible. There is simply not enough military and law enforcement to enforce a full on gun ban or confiscation.

Basic gun rights aren't going anywhere...no matter the POTUS.

What's a basic gun right?

Coming from someone that sits in the middle of the argument, I'm saying the over arching principle of gun ownership isn't going anywhere.

However, you could see limited restrictions enacted in my lifetime
Such as,
Stricter limitations on magazine size, more restrictions on where you can and can't bring a gun, possibly mandatory gun safety class, and even mandatory registration of all gun transactions to create a data base.

I'm not here to argue whether or not they are good ideas but rather state that those are possible.
You won't see confiscation, too much case law and not even remotely practical.

That is a list of restrictions I am 100% against.

especially this one

That means you are going to die disappointed.

No law at the Federal level will touch that again. Plus recent court decisions make the survival of such a law to court challenge very dim.

There's a great gif image you can Google that shows what's happened with Right-To-Carry laws since the 1990's. You might want to look it up.

Again, not possible at the Federal level.

[quote]even mandatory registration of all gun transactions to create a data base.

Again, not possible nor feasible even according to the ATF.

Again, I'm not going to argue the merit of those ideas.
It was an exercise to show some examples of what's been thrown around.

While I strongly believe basic gun rights are here to stay (and that's a good thing), the case law isn't anywhere near as strong as most want to believe.
Especially with the loss of a conservative intillectual giant on the court.

Y'all are missing the big picture, it's not whether the Dems will let us keep our guns, it's whether the Chinese will...

We have theost guns in the world but it doesn't stop China, and other countries like Russia, Iran and even North Korea from sticking it in our face whenever they can.

DPRK says they'll blast us, and we can't increase sanctions unless China let's us....Syria kills everyone and we can't enforce Intl law because Russia blocks us.

If you want to worry, worry about Dems cutting defense spending to increase handouts to the welfare class instead of how much longer you can keep your sweet 10/22 with the banana clip and folding stock.....

You're right on this, but you don't go far enough. Their holy grail is unfettered power, by any means possible, to inflict upon us their view of what the world should be like.

Just like Mao and "The Long March".
