Every year, my wife and I are charged with booking New Years Eve reservations for the friend group and we are looking for some different suggestions.

Party size: 6-8

Neighborhood:
We try to limit to just the Quarter due to a standing party at an apartment in the Quarter.

Price point:
Nothing very high end (Commanders, Galatoire's, Doris) but nothing overly casual (shorts should stand out).

Previous two restaurants: Cafe Giovani (they had a fixed menu and was thoroughly disappointed), Italian Barrel (had a full menu and great atmosphere)

Menu:
We try to not limit ourselves to a fixed menu but understand it is an extremely chaotic time to eat at a restaurant so fixed menus happen.

Eta: currently considering Emril's Nola, MeauxBar, Sylvain's, Bombay Club and R'evolution (been here and really enjoyed it).
Thanks in advance!

Went to MeauxBar a few weeks ago. It was great. Revolution might be a bit high end for what you're looking for. NOLA and Sylvain are both solid as well.

This was our second choice for NYE last year. I've really been wanting to check it out; it might be in the early lead.

I thought about Herbsaint but I'm thinking it will be too far of a walk for the girls. I don't expect to be able to snag an Uber into the Quarter after dinner.

Hotel location isn't a factor. We Uber to the restaurant to start the night then Uber home around 1:30 once the crowds die down.

The party itself (which is where we walk to post-dinner) is a block from Jackson Square

Another option we are considering is Bayona but my buddy said the atmosphere might be a bit too quiet. Thoughts from those that have been?

Sylvain isn't good at accommodating large parties imo

I think Bayona is great, but your friend is correct. Usually a quiet atmosphere may be better suited to a smaller group. What about GW Fins?

The Riverview Room does a whole catered evening with a great view of the fireworks on the river. It's pretty awesome. Only catch is it may already be booked up. It's really popular. Worth a call though.

I haven't eaten here in years but see it mentioned quite a bit as of late in this board. I'll have to give them a call and see the availability and menu options.

Also, the wife has been pretty high on MeauxBar so that is looking more and more where we will end up. I imagine it's in the same price point and atmosphere as Nola, GW, and Peche?

You've got a pretty solid list so far, but I'll add Angeline. I suspect they'll do a NYE dinner.
