The Delta is actually not too bad if you own land. There are late night music dives, great Italian restaurants, museums, Mississippi Blues Trail, and some of the best hunting spots in the deep south.

There areas in Madison and Rankin counties, outside Jackson, that would rival the nicest areas in Louisiana. Not to mention the coast.
