But what do you think about the LSU defense after 1 game?

Defense gave up 16 and scored 7. That should win the game

The defense will only get better but staying on the field 80% of the time doesnt help.

The defense overall looked really good. They had some growing pains at times, but defenders were in position to make plays all game.

It's a fricking shame, they had to carry the team but give them credit for keeping us in it until Harris last pick

I guess I have not jumped on the bandwagon yet, but I didn't think either offense or defense looked that bad.

They had an adequate, but not thrilling, performance against a fairly unimaginative and significantly less talented offense that returned only five starters and started a QB taking his first college snap. Of course, compared to the offense, they were amazing, but compared to an objective standard of defense, their showing was nothing to write home about. It wasn't bad for a first game with a new DC and system, but it wasn't that great.

When the offense and special teams keep you in bad field position, the defense can't take chances.

That hurt their ability to create TFL, other than that they played fine

phenomenal effort last week considering they were on the field for 3/4 of the game. next coach needs to retain aranda.

They didn't look as good as billed but Valentine is brand new as well as Divinity so it'll take a few games to come along. I wish they would be more agressive though. We out no pressure on Wisconsin and barely ever came close to stopping them behind the line. The cornerbacks need to bump at the line more and this 3-4 middle needs to plug some holes.

They looked decent. I can't wait until Aranda gets the full scheme in place.

i'm sure this was just a coincidence but those numbers were exactly the same as last year (and the year before that).

Special teams needs to improve to put both the offense and the defense in better position

We aren't going to beat many teams with one of the worst punt teams in college football. The play is that important.

They look good, still adjusting to the system. The veterans looked great and I think the whole unit will gel over the season into at least a top 10, very possibly top 5 defense with multiple 1st round picks

The defense is why we win at least 9 games this year
