Well we have 4 former QBs on NFL rosters right now and LSU has zero
I know it's good for recruiting and I like our guys to do well at the next level, but I give zero fricks how our guys do when they make the league. I care about how they do when they're a Badger.

Lol. He's not a QB. He shouldn't have been a QB at Wisconsin.
No Badger fan will disagree with you on that one. Unless you consider Gary fricking Andersen a Badger fan (I don't).

Really have little desire to quote everything you just said, especially when I read your tidbit about Tanner McEvoy. You lumped him in with the three other Wisconsin quarterbacks to prove a point, but fail to acknowledge his shot at an NFL roster spot was not as a quarterback.
In addition, Bart Houston has not been in the system "for years." Its been a single, full season. Bart Houston was a 2012 graduate that ran the Veer at De La Salle (CA). Paul Chryst might have been Houston's primary recruiter, but he wasn't by Houston's side again until 2015.
What I do want to quote is the following:
Because I don't think Wisconsin matches up well with LSU, I'm some sort of pessimist? Absolutely not. I've said time-and-time again, on this specific board, that I expect Wisconsin to compete with LSU.
Feel free to take a look at the MSB. Not only that, but in my few years on TD, there are plenty of individuals on the Rant + MSB that would be happy to attest my support/fandom of my Alma Mater. I am not, however, ignorant of what Wisconsin's opponents bring to the table. I don't go to opposing boards acting like an arse (i.e. "But history tells us he certainly has a better shot at the NFL than Brandon Harris...").

Dude, have some faith in your squad. I'd love to go back and look at the posts you made before we beat Kentucky in the final four a few years back or even the Auburn and USC bowl games of late. Wisco can hang with the big boys but you sure seem to be one of the biggest UW doubters that I've come across in quite some time.

I too tend to be a realist (I said it'd be 28-13 LSU). Being realistic about your team doesn't mean you're not a fan. It just means you have the unique ability to be just a wee bit objective.
And yeah, I didn't think we'd beat Kentucky in the Final Four. Doesn't mean I wasn't on the verge of tears watching it happen inside Lucas Oil.

Obviously, Wisconsin will need to establish the run and play very good defense to keep it close against LSU.
Even if BH evolves into a good B1G QB by the end of the year, there's no way we win this one if BH needs to be more than a game manager who picks up a few key 1st downs and avoids mistakes.
And, notably, the "driftless zone" is predominantly in the state of Minnesota. (Driftless zone is a triangle around Mississippi river on Wisc/Minn border that was never covered by a glacier, btw).

To add, Bart Houston should not strike fear in the hearts of any opponent. I'm looking for him to be serviceable and not give up any points the other way.
The fact that they were neck and neck until now is a bad thing. I was hoping one would be far and away the clear choice, but I think what this "battle" means is that we have two really average QBs. I hope I'm wrong.

Just make sure you come back after the game. I seriously doubt it though.

Chryst is a specialist at developing QBs (i.e. Wilson, Tolzien, Stave - all NFL QBs) and I don't think it will be any different with Houston.
You better hope he worked miracles with Houston, because he's about to face, arguably, the best and deepest secondary in the nation. This LSU D as a whole also might be the best defense he faces all year. Then, on the other side, you'll have to stop the best RB and WR tandems you'll face all year.

Wait, is McEvoy at QB in the NFL?

Hell no. He shouldn't have been at QB in college

This isn't trolling, but ya'll dodged the best of the other division the past two years. Now you'll face all of them back to back plus Nebraska will be much better this year, and Iowa is decent enough. Also you've lost to Northwestern in back to back years, and they are on the road, on the tail end of that 6 game Big 10 version of murderers' row.
Honestly, you guys better hope to finish the season 7-5.

If I recall correctly, we haven't won in Evanston since '99. Seriously.

Oh I think Houston will have his moments.
Paul Chryst has an excellent track record as a quarterback coach. Before he went to Pitt to become their head coach, he was offered at least two NFL QB coaching gigs, including the Cowboys. He might turn Houston into a really good QB. We shall see.
