I've watched 2 episodes, and I'm wondering if I'm the only one that thinks this show sucks?

The only thing that could make it worse is if Bill Simmons laughed at his own shitty jokes.

I'm curious if anybody is watching this show, but it doesn't interest me.

The commercials for it before it aired made me not want to watch it.

From the bits I've seen it feels too much just like a video version of is podcast, if that makes sense

I like it well enough. I'm a fan of Simmons. It does seem a little sterile, like he needs an audience or something. I wonder if the show has caused him to cut back on his writing. I was disappointed there was no NBA Draft column on The Ringer. I'm hoping he does a 20,000 word piece on this year's NBA player rankings, or an NFL preview based around quotes from The Departed.....

I've been watching but I can't say it's great or anything. I'm only watching because it's sports-related. Affleck's intoxicated rant on the first episode was great.

I thought the segment with Cuban and Malcolm Gladwell was awesome, but that could also be attributable to not having to hear Simmons chime in too much. Most of the other segments are just ok. I just don't think Simmons is that great of an interviewer and makes it too much about himself.

Gladwell and Cuban were GREAT guests, as was Hader.

I have liked almost all of his guests actually. They are the best part of the show.

He said on Friday Rollin that he's still tinkering with the format. He said he probably should've gotten rid of the opening segment of episode 2 in order to air more of the interview with Cuban & Gladwell. So at least he knows the interviews are carrying the show, and hopefully he tailors it more towards that moving forward.

It comes off a little awkward without an audience

The Ringer is aiming to do like TMZ sized articles. They tag each one with how long itll take you too read it. I dont think youll see many 20000 word pieces from anyone on that site because hes specifically aiming for a younger demographic that wants shorter articles.

Its a smart idea, but kind of comes off as like your dad trying to act hip in front of your friends, kinds of alienates the people that have followed him since page 2 as well. Im always disappointed in their articles because the headline will be interesting but the actual article will be 3 paragraphs in which they brush up on what they want to say. Its like if Cracked wrote their titles and TMZ wrote their articles

I really like it. I think it has a good base. Show is still finding itself. Having great guest will be the driving factor of the show
