Anyone else here? Got to hoist up a brick from the 3 line on court and getting some stuff signed by AD.

Might be down to zero. It's a two hour event, and an hour and 10 minutes in they've already stopped the locker room tours.

Wow. If this is fan appreciation, it's not hard to see why the stands are empty.

In hindsight, I should have brought a toy tank to get signed.

quote:How'd you get stuff signed by AD? The line was literally halfway around the arena and he left after about a half hour. They advertised the locker room tour. Yet, if you tried to get into line too early, they said it was not open yet. If you came back about 40 minutes later, they said the line was too long and to come back later. Then you come back about another 30 minutes later and they said it was closed for the day. A 2 hour event for all of your season ticket holders is lame.

they used to do this on the nights where you'd pick your new seats for the following year. and you had an appointment time window. no lines....
they would have the photo stuff set up, so you could take a picture with CP3 or someone, and it would go up on a website so you could order prints or download it.
they are delusional about what we want now.

Yeah, turns out we didn't get shite signed by AD. They rotated players around different areas - on stage, at the autograph table, hanging out at the kids area, etc. So if you said, "Oh look, Ryno is now at the table, let me get this Ryno jersey I just bought signed by Ryno" and got in line, he'd be gone before you got anywhere near the line. We ended up getting a ball signed by Luke, Omer, Gee, and Ajinca in the other area after bailing on the line when AD left (already picked up a real signed AD jersey at an auction at a game, so we were fine with that). After getting turned away by the locker room tour at 3:10 (even thoguh the event was 2:00-4:00), we got back in line for Jrue and Kendrick. They announce at 3:35 that they are stopping at 3:45, with at least 50 people in line. They walk away with about half the people still in line. That's not how you run an autograph line. You go to a certain point in line and say you'll only be able to accomodate to that point. You don't let people stand in line for something they won't get. I've been to numerous signings and have never seen it run this way, where you literally walk away with a kid standing next in line.
The "lesser" players rotated at another area where they were standing around (2 at a time). Of course, they don't even have Sharpies to autograph with (but of course they are selling them in the gift shop). Gee and Ajinca are standing there with around 8 people in a line that had formed, and Gee tiurns around and walks away to sit in a chair at the face painter's table. Kids are like, "Well, okay - that just happened" and some go over there to get stuff signed. My son goes over, gets the ball signed, then asks for a pic. He gives us a look like, "You mean I have to get up?" He did get up, but the pause was downright hilarious. Sumbitch should be grateful that anyone wants his damn autograph as a consolation prize after getting shut down at other tables. He must be tired from pushing out those 3.7 points a game for a million dollars.
Luke was cool and made comments to everyone who approached him, and Asik seemed like the most genuinely nice guy I had a chance to see. The event at the practice facility was run much better than this and was a wonderful experience. The primary reason we attended this event was for a locker room tour, so it was disappointing to get turned away 1 hr. 10 min. into a 2 hour event.
This was more like fan disappointment day. If they can't accomodate the damn fans, they need to have a longer event or multiple events with limited numbers.

quote:I agree it was better run at the practice facility. This was a mess and not a positive experience. My son and I wanted to tour the locker room as well and were unable to. We did meet Ryan Anderson and he was very nice and genuine. We enjoyed meeting him. For as many people as attended the event, it really should have been about 4 hours in length. Heck, some at the back of the entrance line probably did not get in until 2:15 or so and some things were cut off at 3:30. Very poorly planned.

Seriously, how do they put players out on the floor at a fan appreciation event without a freaking Sharpie in their hand? Pels gonna Pel.
