What are you more excited about: our 1st round pick or #1 FA signing?

I'd say draft pick. We'll end up overpaying a loser in free agency like we've always done.

Draft pick. It will be nice to watch and hope on the development of someone besides AD.

The pick for sure. Fisher has floated some interesting ideas on how to use our cap space including extending Jrue to lock him in at a cheaper price or keeping player payroll low enough to cover the cost of eating Gentry's contract and hiring JVG.

All excitement has been extinguished....I guess the pick. Right outside the good player window

I guess I'm most excited about the player that we'll get for trading our 2016 and2017 draft picks.

Because a pro-coach guy like JVG would want to work for this organization after what he's seen the last two years

JVG actively lobbied for the Pelicans job. If they are willing to let go of Dell as well, JVG would no doubt come here.

If by "actively lobbied" you mean "he was interviewed" then ok I guess... but it's been a year and if you think he'd still want this job after watching Monty get fired after making the playoffs and Gentry fired after one injury plagued season that's crazy

No I mean he actively made it known to ownership that he wanted the job which led to the interview process. He has had multiple opportunities to return to coaching since '07, but has refused those. He let it be known that he was specifically interested in the Pelcians job because of AD.

And it is because of AD that I think he would definitely still want the job particularly if Dell is gone. He would have full control over the roster with a superstar to build around. That is not crazy.

If you listen to him much at all, he's not going anywhere without a deal like Stan got where he may have a GM to do the grunt work, but JVG would be making the decisions. He wouldn't have any reason to fear Benson/Loomis if he came here because he'd come here with the mutual agreement about how much power and turnaround time he gets. Also, if he comes, he's coming for AD. AD is the type of player that he can build a champion around and turn his legacy from good coach to great coach. There aren't many other available jobs that have a future HOFer already on the roster, and that's hardest part of a championship team to get.

I don't see what he's done to get that type of power
