Bo Ryan retiring at Wisconsin. Can he replace Johnny Jones immediately ??????. ..... What a great career he's had at Wisconsin. His teams have always been fundamentally sound. Wishful thinking I know lol.

Isn't he almost 70 years old?

He turns 68 this weekend and has been the head coach of Wisconsin since 2001. He is done.

I don't think rebuilding a struggling program is in his retirement plan.

Was just joking. Wasn't the guy that replaced pokey Chapman close to 100 though. Ryan can flat out coach. I remember when his sweet 16 team back in 99 shut down stromile swift.

No to Bo Ryan, but if by chance Johnny Jones doesn't work out and LSU lets him go in the future, should LSU take a look at Roman Banks from Southern? He seems to do pretty well for a guy with very little resources (Recruiting budget and talent). Don't kill me, just wondering what the rant thinks.

Van came in for what was supposed to be a stop gap after Pokey. However, he stayed too long and wasn't very good at his job. It was a safe hire after a scandal. Not the same situation as replacing a mediocre coach with no baggage.

I know I know. Just time this morning. Heading to b rouge this evening for Craig Victor's debut.

Roman Banks has been a good coach for Southern, but he is not even close to being a candidate for an LSU head coaching position. His only head coaching experience is with Southern (since 2011). They are 77-54 overall and have won the SWAC once. He is a good coach, but on a different playing field.

I don't think you know what "retiring" means.

no, LSU needs to go get an accomplished coach that is a teacher of fundamentals and gets his team to the NCAAT every year.
i'd suggest looking at a coach from the east coast.

Plus this is also an eerie near coincidence to 1980 and our football program.

Put him on a plane right now and point it straight for the Gulf of Mexico!
