Has anyone looked into Jimbo's contract with FSU.

I have heard all this Jimbo talk but does anyone know if he is at the last year of his contract with FSU? If not, can you see LSU paying $15 mil for miles's buy out and another $6 or $7 mil for Jimbo's buy out of his contract. If this has been brought up before I must have missed it. If this is the case, I think everyone should start wishing for another savior.

Pretty sure the dollar amount is the least of our worries.

It's being said that money is not an issue and will not stop them from doing what they want to do.

He signed an extension last year through 2022 or some shite like that.

Nah, you're the very first person to even consider this. Maybe you should be AD once they fire Alleva. You're definitely on top of things.

Thanks for the snide remarks but I was hoping to get some real facts.

Seriously man. We have had at least 60 threads over the past week with this shite. At least 20 of them have been about the numbers and contracts.

It won't be an issue. Tired of hearing about this 15 million. It doesn't even apply or could be only a couple million depending when he takes another job. I would bet it gets settled for about 5 million up front.

-Fisher will earn $5M as a base compensation in 2015, with a raise of $100K in each successive year, culminating with him earning a base of $5.7M in 2022. That makes him among the sport's highest paid coaches.
-Fisher's buyout will be $5M in 2016, $3M between 2017-18 and $1M before 2019.
-Fisher's bonuses include $100K for winning (ties included) the Atlantic Division, $100K for an ACC Championship, $100K for a CFB Playoff berth, $200K for reaching the National Championship Game, $200K for winning the National Championship, $100K if FSU plays in a non-playoff access bowl game, $50K for a bowl game not part of the CFB system, $200K for top-5 poll finish, $100K for a top-ten poll finish, $200K for an undefeated season, $75K for the AP National Coach of the Year, $50K for the ACC Coach of the Year, and $250K for other established university goals COURTESY OF TOMAHAWKNATION.COM

For his buyout to be so low he must have known he wanted out for some reason

A) It wouldn't be $15 MM, it would be $11 MM.
B) It could be even lower than that if Les finds another gig, as his contract dictates he does.
C) It would be paid out over 8 years, so it's not like the TAF would be out all of that at once.
D) Jimbo's current buyout is $5 MM if he terminates on or before 12/31/2016.
E) Jimbo (TAF) would have 60-days to pay FSU after termination of contract.
Those are the facts.
Les is gone, so we know TAF (individual boosters) will be ponying up $11 MM not matter who is hired. I would hope that they set aside a large amount now in a "Les Miles Retirement Fund" account, let that earn interest, and pay him from that until he is made whole.
So, really, the only large amount of upfront money would be the buyout of $5 MM for Jimbo. Now, lets look at some other names that have been thrown-out there, and what their buyouts would be.
Justin Fuente - $500k
Tom Herman - $2.25 MM
Dan Mullen - $1.4 MM
So, taking cheapest of those three, Fuente, do you risk the short-term $4.5 MM savings and go with a young coach, or do you go with the more "sure" hire in Jimbo, and bank that you will make that $5 MM relatively quickly?
Herman has done great things in Houston, but I'm pretty sure that most everyone would take Jimbo and give the points in that deal. Those that have thrown Mullen out were smoking crack, and if you're not got going to grab Herman at 2.25, then I don't think you're gonna go after Mullen at 1.4.
Therefore, in the grand scheme of things, to get Jimbo will cost $5 MM upfront.
That's it. Those are the facts.

It's common knowledge. Doesn't seem to be a problem. It will, however, be a HUGE problem if he loses a few games each year. He's expected to win championships If he doesn't, the heat will be deserved
