this was the D's worse game, safety,LB play was terrible on those long runs

4th and 8, but still should have gone for it.
I was laughing that we thought punting would give us the best chance to win.
If you go for it and don't get it, they have the ball at midfield. That's less field for them to drive, which means less time for them to take off the clock. If your defense allows them to drive 50 yards and score a TD, you're going to lose anyway. If you hold them to a FG, less time goes off the clock, and you are still only down two scores.
Just a ridiculous decision.

We did the same thing against Bama. We weren't trying to win either of these games from what I could tell. Not when it got tough anyway.

Yeah. That's my biggest complaint. Punting was the worst option there.

Anyone else notice the odd defensive alignmenta we had. Many plays with no safety help on an entire side of the field.
