The SNES set itself apart with its exclusive games, but there are some great looking Genesis titles, particularly those designed by Treasure later in the system's life.
Sound is another topic, though I think there's something charming about the way Genesis's games sound. The Genesis was terrible at orchestral arrangements and voices but its bass / drums always felt punchier to me.
Regardless, the SNES was more powerful AND Nintendo sold way more of them. Also, it was just an all around better system with more timeless games.
