Anyone on the board use this? Was going to fry some catfish today and this is what I have around. Should I just get some regular fish fry? Thanks

It's not 100% oyster shell right?

Either way, I didn't end up using it. After prepping the catfish I ended up using Zatarain's Fish Fri. Limited on the seasoning I can get since I live in TN.

The wife found Louisiana's, but all they had was unseasoned.

I have some Cod to cook soon, I'll probably use the oyster shell to do that.

Wait, do you think the fry is actually made of oyster shells?

The name of the company is SOS Oyster Shells as in Stainless steel Oyster Shells... What you bought is just cornmeal and flour

The seafood fry is not made of oyster shells. It's just fish fry, probably seasoned corn flour and maybe some cornmeal. The company name is SOS Oyster Shells because that's the main product.

If you see unseasoned fish fry, just season it or use cornmeal to fry the fish and season that. I use plain old cornmeal that I season.

That is a confusing package. I was wondering how in the hell ground oyster shells makes for fish fry. But upon closer inspection it's Schwing Oyster Shells' version of regular seafood fry.

Yes, if you're not familiar with the company, the package can be misleading. Strange thing is I think I got an email from them a while back about the fish fry, but it's not listed on the website. Hmmmmmm....
