I LOVE the idea of using the 3 OT set routinely. It's such a gamechanger, especially with a potential new stud in Peat that we can't keep on the bench.
Would be a game changer for sure.

Who gets cut if Humber & Hawthorne are retained?
Parys?
Parys?

You have Elerbe and Anthony as the starters. I could see Humber has the backup...hawethorne's salary has to go.
Spencer stays over Parys. If he's healthy.

You need at least four ILBs. Looking at the other ILBs (two UDFAs and just some guy) there is no way I see any of the top four getting cut unless an OLB gets moved inside (Haralson and Powell are the only two that make sense but I question if they are better than the actual ILBs).

quote:Ever? I'm sure it's been done before; 1981 (George Rogers, Russell Gary, Rickey Jackson) comes to mind. That year also gave us Hoby Brenner, Frank Warren, Johnnie Poe, and Jim Wilks, all of whom eventually started.- Did Warren and Brenner start as rooks, too? I think Brenner did.
Ole Barry predicts all three rookies to start? Yea.ok
Has nola ever produced 3 first day starters from the draft?
2006- Reggie Bush (was he ever a starter?), Marques Colston (think he was day 1), ... what about Roman Harper and Jahri Evans? I think Harper was, uncertain how long before Evans took over.
1986- Jim Dombroski, Reuben Mayes (and Dalton Hilliard, also taken that draft, was backup and later took the spot), Pat Swilling.
1994 Joe Johnson, Winfred Tubbs, Mario Bates. I think they were all starters from opening day.

Evans, Colston, and Harper were all day one starters. Bush was a time share starter. Then Strief was an eventual starter and I think we got Ninkovich that year too. Only bust was some receiver in the sixth I think.

Was that bust mike Haas?

Just checked and we had two sixth round busts that year: WR Mike Haas and CB Josh Lay.
Every other pick was eventually a starter, even Ninkovich with the Pats.

I think our final roster of LBs will be:
OLB: Spencer, JR, Kikaha, Haralson, Tull
ILB: Ellerbe, Anthony, Hawthorne, Humber
