I can't wait for all of this to unfold. It's one of the rare times we will get to see how far having the best player in the league and the only person left in the playoffs with championship experience/mettle can take you.
Will the Hawks clam up in crunch time? If the Cavs get past them, will the Warriors clam up? It is going to be very interesting.

Why are the Hawks favored tonight?
Because they're probably going to win.
Then Cleveland will inevitably win the next three, sleepwalk in Game 5, and then close it out at home in Game 6.

Convenient cutoff point.
Throw in 2 extra teams, Detroit and Houston, who both won multiple championships with superstars and you get to go back 30 years. Or just make it 10 to bring you back to 1980. That 10th team was Philly which had Moses Malone and Dr. J on the court by the way. Again, new teams break in here and there, and almost always they win multiple championships. But these new teams always have had an NBA superstar that brought the championship in. Detroit winning with Billups, Wallace x 2, Hamilton, and Prince is your best comparison. That teams first 5 was ridiculous though. If they had taken Anthony, Bosh or Wade instead of Milicic, they probably would have won the next 4-5 championships.

Well they haven't yet, I mean they stormed back from 20 with their bench players

I think they win the series. They had a better record than Cleveland + home = favorite.

no... not even close
Cleveland may win, they are a damn good basketball team. But to say atlanta "isn't even close" to being better is simply ignorant. I mean it's not like we have several matchups throughout the season to judge on or anything...

How long will it take for people to realize the postseason is completely different than the regular season? It's like people love being wrong about this every damn year.

most regular season is in cruise control for teams. Once it gets playoffs, the big dogs come to play. Anyone who thought a 3-1 record in regular season meant anything in this series doesnt have a clue about basketball. Lebron turns it on in the playoffs, even with no love, and kyrie. The hawks were fools gold all year, and its showing.

I was saying Cleveland would win the east in January and got this kind of resistance. At least at that time Hawks fans had legitimate evidence to make their claims. I just had the stars win in the playoffs line, but it was naive to think the Hawks had a chance the way they played the first two rounds.
