he played several years in the NBA and was a decent rotation player.
I would say he was the last legit college player we've had with NBA star potential.

Went pro a year too early and prevented Trent Johnson from winning a championship at LSU and a lifetime contract

Agreed.

Bo Spencer
Marcus Thornton
Tasmin Mitchel
Anthony Randolph
Chris Johnson

Garrett Temple&Grarrett Green off the bench

That woulda been a top 10 team.

He was effective when he got minutes but never became part of a team's long term plans. The last few years it seemed like he was either playing 30 minutes and putting up 15 points when a team was ravaged by injuries or getting DNP-CD's and/or playing garbage time. There was no happy medium, he was never playing 10 key minutes as part of the rotation. I don't know if that was a personality issue or a playing style issue or just plain bad luck.

We actually won the SEC that year without him.

With MT5, we could have competed for the NC. Hell, we gave UN their hardest game of the tourney

was thinking the same thing a few days back. I remember he was a solid rotation player for a couple of years in the league.

we were a pretty good team. I think we got a bad shake in the seeding and played UNC (who won it all) too early.

that being said, we played them closer than anyone else in the tourney including Mich St in the championship.

Mickey won't be drafted. If he wants to play for the Deleware 87ers he should declare.

He was, but just as here, he played when he wanted to...which wasn't often and that wore thin quick everywhere he played.

Hes matured but teammates were glad to see him go plus playing for nellie right out the gate wasnt great for his development even if it was a good fit from a basketball perspective.

I dont know if he still tweets but he used to rep LSU pretty hard during football season.

I hear Marshall Henderson's team in Iraq needs a too skinny center who can't play face up d or box out.
