Town in City --building a place in the heights as a neighborhood taproom type place. starting small and will only distribute around the heights.

City Acre--North on 59 about 10 minutes from downtown...will be brewing and having a tasting room onsite and also grow food there to cook and serve at their place.

anyone have any scoop on these?

My sources tell me that both will likely be better than Fort Bend Brewing.

I tried some of their stuff at WLN this year but was too far along in the evening to offer any evaluation.

My house is a few blocks away, I hope it works out for them.

Yeah, the building has been up for a while. I saw the equipment being moved in a couple months ago.

Don't know if yall have tried d&t drive in (a little down cavalcade)but it has a decent selection and although it's not heavily advertised or utilized, they sell set-ups. Basically you pay 5 bucks for a mixer and you can bring your own liquor. They were trying to do some interesting food there, but I haven't really tried any.

Also if you are in a pinch for a decent retail beer selection stop at joes convenience store on main and 24th will have most of the local brews and some of the larger nationals (stone, lagunitas, etc)

No Label Brewery in Katy isnt a bad place to try. Im far from a beer snob but the few different beers I tried there were good. Cool environment there.....bring a chair and they have live music and food trucks usually on the weekend.
